Wesley Wilson: The Tulsa Drone Guy

In addition to being an aviation enthusiast, Wesley also has an added enthusiasm for helping others.

It was this combination of passions that led to the launching of Tulsa Drone Guy in 2019 as a way to integrate unmanned aviation with helping others protect their commercial and residential assets and their communities.

As Tulsa Drone Guy continues to emerge within the region and the quickly developing UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System) industry, it has developed a “drone code” (set of values) as it strives to help others through the integration of unmanned flight:

• Making Safety the #1 Priority

  • Although drones serve an extremely beneficial element within our economic and technical lives, quite simply, they are miniature aircrafts sharing the same airspace as manned flights. All flights from the Tulsa Drone Guy are assessed and conducted within the parameters of FAA Part 107 and its corresponding waivers to provide a safe environment for all ground, air, manned, and unmanned operations.

• Guarding Your Privacy (and the privacy of those around you)

  • The idea of an airborne, mobile camera can be thrilling to some while chilling to others. As the UAS (drone) industry continues to emerge, maintaining positive public relations (via communication, transparency, and education) is an ongoing value held by the Tulsa Drone Guy.

• Engaging in Continuing Education

  • The viability of any professional is his or her knowledge and knowing how it benefits others. Within just a matter of a few years, the UAS industry has gone from crawling to walking and soon hopes to be running as its technology and its benefits become more and more apparent. For the Tulsa Drone Guy, continual education will take place with intentional training, industrial certifications, and proper Part 107 waiver implementations.
